Chiranjeevi was born as Konidela Siva Sankara Vara Prasad on August 22, 1955, in Mogalthur, a small town in Andhra Pradesh’s West Godavari District. Raised primarily by his grandparents due to his father’s frequent transfers as a police officer, he grew up in a culturally rich environment. With four siblings, including two prominent actors—Nagendra Babu and Pawan Kalyan—Chiranjeevi was immersed in the world of cinema and entertainment from a young age. He completed his schooling in various towns before obtaining a B.Com degree from Sri Y N College in Andhra Pradesh. As a dedicated NCC cadet, he even marched in the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi, igniting his leadership potential.

Entry into Acting

Inspired by his love for acting, Chiranjeevi moved to Chennai to pursue a film career after completing college. He joined the Madras Film Institute in 1976. He began his cinematic journey with Punadhirallu it was Pranam Khareedu that marked his first film release. His breakthrough came with Mana Voori Pandavulu, where his performance gained significant recognition.

Rise to Stardom (1982–1986)

Chiranjeevi’s popularity soared with films like Intlo Ramayya Veedhilo Krishnayya (1982), Subhalekha,and the action-packed Khaidi (1983), establishing him as a versatile and powerful actor. By the mid-1980s, Chiranjeevi was already a dominant force in Telugu cinema, with hit films such as Challenge, Rakshasudu, and Adavi Donga. His role in Vijetha earned him his second Filmfare Award.

The Era of Blockbusters and National Acclaim (1987–2007)

The late 1980s and 1990s were golden years for Chiranjeevi. Films like Swayamkrushi (1987) and Rudraveena (1988) showcased his acting prowess, earning him both Nandi Awards and National Film Awards. The socio-fantasy epic Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari (1990) became a cultural phenomenon. By 1992, Chiranjeevi was the highest-paid actor in India, with films like Gharana Mogudu and Aapadbandhavudu cementing his legacy. His foray into Bollywood also proved successful with movies like Pratibandh and Aaj Ka Goonda Raaj.

Political Career and Public Life

In 2008, Chiranjeevi ventured into politics by forming the Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) in Andhra Pradesh. Despite a modest performance in the 2009 elections, PRP was eventually merged with the Indian National Congress in 2011. Chiranjeevi served as the Minister of State for Tourism from 2012 to 2014, representing India on international platforms like the Cannes Film Festival and the International Indian Film Academy Awards.
